A big welcome to our new pigs here at Life On The Land!  We have two female Berkshire heritage breed gilts (female unbred pig) and one Berkshire X Large Black barrow (castrated male pigs) who is destined for the table sometime early next year.

We are very keen to utilise the natural habits of the pigs to regenerate our forested areas of the farm.  Their unique ability to plough with their noses will aerate the soil, this in turn will and allow moisture to permeate deeper into the landscape.  We also look forward to how effective they are at removing weeds such as blackberries.

We hope these pigs are the foundations on which we can heal more land and also provide our customers will clean, free range, heritage breed pork products in the future.

I believe healthy food comes from happy animals and as can be seen above, these little beauties couldn't be happier.
