Smoke & Fire
It has been a nervous time on the farm. Bush fires had been burning in the Mitchell Shire on a couple of fronts. The smell of smoke was quite heavy in the air and with the intense dry weather and high winds, I couldn't help but be reminded of Back Saturday.
Many of my friends and family were evacuated, some chose to stay and battle fires that came to their doorsteps. With the fires now contained, I can say everyone is now safe - we were some of the lucky ones.
This post is to give a heartfelt thanks to the brave CFA men and women who battled the blazes to save the lives and homes of so many people. And also to the Community Centre of Seymour who sheltered the families that were impacted - such an amazing achievement to our community.
