Running Water

One of the hardest things to deal with on the farm was a lack of water. I grew up with tank water as a kid and I just couldn't wait to get back to it ... Town water just isn't right to me. When I would fill a large jug or the sink, a close sniff registers chemical odors with me ... At some places where I've had tap water, I could swear I was drinking out of a chlorinated pool! I fitted my tank - a galvanized type with a food grade liner inside.

Now with the tank installed and a small shed to connect it to ... It was time to start harvesting water.

Now this beauty can hold 200,000 liters of water - my research indicated the on average, a family of four consumes around 160,000 liters a year. So I think I'm pretty safe once this baby is full.
