It has only been a few days since the latest chicks arrived and they have been growing at an amazing rate.  As can be seen below in the photo, the main feathers of the wing have already started to come through.

I really enjoy rearing these wonderful birds.  I always make sure they have feed and clean water - one of the most important things I believe is to move with calm and steady movements while caring for them.  Generally they are calm and docile - they stay to enjoy a gentle scratch on the chest - although any loud sounds or fast movements spook them and it is very important to reduce any stress.

As can be seen in the picture above, the shape of the double breast meat is starting to develop at five days old.  I can't wait for the main feathers of these little beauties to come through so they can start to venture outside.
