Faith In Fruit

Some weeks ago I blogged about the transplanting of my fruit trees to the farm.   Given how late it was in the season, I was not sure if they would survive. As I walked along the boundary fence to check on their progress, I was totally amazed to see how some of them were doing.

Apricot

Not only did I find tiny fruit on some of the trees, but they were even growing at an amazing rate!  The most spectacular was the apricot tree.  Moorpark Apricots are a great variety and I highly recommend them if you can find them at your local nursery.  They are so wonderfully sweet, when I break them open in the summer, the juice pours out thick like honey.

Cherry Tree

My cherry tree has lots off little fruit scattered throughout its branches.  In fact, it has the most fruit on it I have seen since I planted it five years ago.

I'm not too sure what to make of it.  Is it the weather?  Is it the open environment they are now in?  Either way, I count it as a blessing and a lucky break in my humble beginnings.
