Blog Bond
I was asked the other day, 'Why go to all the effort of blogging everything you do on the farm?' Its a fair question to ask. With all the work we do here at Life On The Land, we need to be efficient with our time and energy so we can care for the land and animals in the way we choose to - this means cutting out quite a few things that are classed as unnecessary.
For me the blog is an essential part of the farm and it caters for many things: An online record of the farms development, the ability to express myself through my passion for writing, a method of education and information sharing with like minded people, etc ...
The most important reason is that this blog is a bond between us. It is the way in which customers have direct contact with the farmer, to know where and how their food is raised. When you prepare a meal with say, one of our Pasture Raised Chickens, you understand fully how the animal was raised, where it came from, the life it had and its impact on the land. Within the online pages of this blog is our bond, the most essential agreement we can have together in regards to the food we choose to eat.
One day soon we plan to have farm tours where anyone can come to see the farm in person and where the bond between farmer and customer can also be made in person.
Can't wait!
