Buying Clubs

One of the big challenges farmers face is how to get their produce to the customer. On farm sales are great, although customers frequenting your establishment can be difficult.  Home delivery is the most convenient for the customer, however driving for a couple of hours to deliver a single chicken will send the farmer broke.

This is where Buying Clubs come in.

A host or hostess offers their home (typically their driveway) for the farmer to deliver to.  Customers (usually local friends and family) arrive at a designated date and time to pick up their items.

For the customer it is a simple way to purchase their items locally and the farmer can reach more customers in one place - what an amazing combination!

For those of you wanting to buy direct from a farmer, try attending a Buying Club or even hosting one of your own - it is well worth it.
